Android may say the app is from an unknown source. That is normal for a direct APK. Open Settings → Apps → Special access → Install unknown apps (wording varies by phone), allow your browser once, then open the APK again.
iPhone / iPad
Apple does not allow installing apps from a website the way Android does. There is no “download IPA” button that works for normal event staff. You need one of the official Apple channels below.
Best fit for local event staff
TestFlight — Digital Zanat invites staff by email (or a public TestFlight link). Staff install Apple’s free TestFlight app, accept the invite, and get TapCash at no charge. Good for a known group of phones before and during an event.
When a TestFlight build is live, the invite or public link will be listed here.
TestFlight — coming soonApp Store
After App Review, TapCash can appear on the App Store. Useful modes:
- Free listing — anyone can install; you charge for events or hardware separately if you want.
- Unlisted — not searchable; only people with your direct App Store link can install. Often ideal for operator tools.
- Paid listing + promo codes — charge on the Store, then give staff free promo codes from App Store Connect.
There is no clean App Store switch for “paid for strangers, free for staff” without promo codes, volume purchasing, or keeping the app free / unlisted and billing offline.
App Store — coming soonAd hoc / developer installs that register each phone’s UDID are capped (~100 devices) and painful to manage on the day. Apple’s Enterprise program is for internal employees of one company, not event contractors or customers.
